Netflix has released the trailer for Warrior Nun based on Warrior Nun Areala, a comic series by Ben Dunn published by Antarctic Press.
The series and show centers around Ava (Alba Baptista) who wakes up in a morgue and discovers that she has superhuman abilities via a holy relic embedded in her back. Ava goes on to realize she is fated to utilize those abilities in battles against evil forces as part of an ancient order known as the Cruciform Sword. The trailer promises an alliance with Sister Warriors like Lilith (Lorena Andrea) and Shotgun Mary (Toya Turner).
The trailer was dropped alongside a poster and promo stills which promise good evil-fighting fun springboarded by the controversial series. We can only hope that the series, set to premiere on July 2nd, delivers and does not fall short like so many Netflix original series do.
